For many years growing up in New Jersey, I used to send cards to famous athletes through the mail. Taking pride in every request I made, I often received many of the cards sent back to me with that player's autograph on it.

While attending Rutgers University, and pursuing a degree in Computers and Business, I kept up with my autograph hobby on weekends, and throughout the summer whenever possible.

One of my first real jobs during college was to develop commercial websites for small to medium sized businesses. With a passion for the Internet, it didn't take long before I had a list of satisfied clients, and had built an abundance of great E-Commerce websites.

One day shortly before finishing up at Rutgers, I was looking for a fun way to combine my two interests...

Aha! The idea of Autograph-cards.com was born.

The Beginning

In the beginning, countless hours and free time went into planning, obtaining autographs, and production of our initial website. With the help of several friends, we were able to open our doors for business in August, 2001.

The first couple of years were slow, but for me it was a hobby, and I enjoyed the tremendous challenges that stood before me. With little resources and lots of motivation, we did the best to keep the site going. We learned a lot from our triumphs and stumbles along the way.

The Purpose

Overall, our focus has been towards making Autograph-cards.com a one-stop autograph site where you can get an autograph from just about anybody playing Baseball, Football, Basketball, and Hockey in the United States or Canada.

Over time, we have added tens of thousands of autographs to the website, and improved a lot of the website's features. We have used our email newsletter to keep in touch with our customers, fans, friends, and well-wishers. In the the pursuit of constant improvement, we were able to push ahead into new and uncharted territory.

Due to the increase in scope and size, we now mostly purchase autographs from reputable dealers, and other collectors who get them in person, either through spring training, games, signings, and hotels. Our suppliers are scattered throughout the world, so we can get an autograph from just about anyone from just about anywhere.

Furthermore, we love helping other collectors like ourselves find what they are looking for. Even if we do not have it in stock, we can often help you locate it for free. We try to remain reasonable with our prices, giving added value to our customers through our personable customer service, and dynamic website.

The Goal

Truth is, we are collectors first and foremost. For me, this is the autograph store I wished that was available when I was growing up.
